This feature is recommended for events that are recurring in a series, such as recurring fitness classes, recurring weekly lunches, and recurring affinity group meetings like book clubs, film nights, dance classes, and wine tastings.\n\nRecurring event templates allow you to set the event frequency and specify how far in advance each event in the series will be created. Since events will become visible to tenants in the app and on displays (if enabled) as they are created, the Advance Open Window option ensures events are created gradually, rather than all at once. For example, if you create a weekly recurring event for an entire year, you have the option of determining how many events in that series will be created and visible to tenants in advance — all 52, or just a few at a time for easier management and visibility.\n\nYour recurring event series are managed from the Recurring tab, which displays a count of your active series. The table includes Opening On, Next Event To Open Start Time, Next Event To Open End Time, and Interval columns so you can quickly review your scheduled events at a glance.\n\nbasic information\n\ninterval and timing\n\nticket prices (only if Stripe is activated)\n\nevents shown on displays (only if displays are activated)\n\nemail notifications\n\nsurveys\n\ntags\n\nevent visibility\n\nBasic Recurring Event Information\nReminder: this section configures the basic information for the recurring event template. Once an event is created, this information can be changed individually on each event.\nNavigate to the Engage section of the dashboard, and click on +New Recurring Event in the top right. Fill out the basic information of your event:\n\nName\n\nDescription (customize using rich text editing tools!)\n\nImage\n\nEvent Link Button (optional)\n\nEvent Link URL (optional)\nAdd information to this section if you are hosting an online event or if you need to share information from another website.\n\nLocation (optional)\nAdd a physical location, if applicable\n\nInterval and Timing\nThis section determine the interval and timing of events in a recurring events series, and how far in advance individual events in a recurring series are created (and visible to tenants).\nReminder: this section configures the start end end times for the recurring event template. Once an event is created, this information can be changed individually on each event.\nNote: This recurrence pattern defines the next unscheduled occurrence of this recurring event. Any existing occurrences tied to this recurring event are unaffected by changes here.\n\nFill out the Next Event To Open - Start Time and Next Event To Open - End Time. These are the start and end times for the next event to be created in the series. You cannot select a start time in the past.\n\nFor example, if you are hosting a weekly Friday Lunch event, the Next Occurrence Start Time and Next Occurrence End Time might be as follows:\n\nFill out the Recurrence Interval to determine how frequently the event occurs. Choose interval options in the form of days, weeks, months, or years.\n\nFill out the Advance Open Window field to determine How far in advance should events be created. Remember that events become visible to tenants in the app and on displays (if enabled) as they are created. The Advance Open Window option ensures events are created gradually, rather than all at once. Choose the advance open (creation) window in the form of hours, days, weeks, months, or years.\n\nExamples:\n\nIf you want to make an event in a recurring event series visible to tenants 4 weeks in advance of the event date, configure your event as follows:\n\nIf you want to make an event in a recurring event series visible to tenants 1 day in advance of the event date, configure your event as follows:\n\nConfigure Recurring Event RSVPs\nThis section allows you to manage event RSVPs, RSVP limits, waitlists, and guest check-in with QR codes.\nReminder: this section configures the event RSVPs for the recurring event template. Once an event is created, this information can be changed individually on each event.\nSelect Collect RSVPs if you would like to require an RSVP for your event. If you select this, several other customizable options will appear.\n\nEvent RSVP Limit (optional): add a maximum occupancy for your event\n\nIf you enter a maximum occupancy, the waitlist option will appear\n\nThe RSVP limit is the number of people not the number of reservations\nFor example: if you set the RSVP limit to 20 and set the limit per user to 2, no one will be allowed to RSVP once 20 attendees have RSVPd (regardless of whether or not someone has a +1 or not).\n\nEnable Event waitlist: Select this option if you would like to enable a waitlist for those who register after the maximum capacity is reached. For example: If the event RSVP limit is set to 40, the 41st person to RSVP will be put on a waitlist.\n\nLimit Per User: If you would like guests to be able to bring additional guests, type the number or tickets allowed per user. For example: If you want guests to only RSVP for themselves, set the limit to 1. If you would like guests to bring a +1, set the limit to 2.\n\nUse QR code on tablet for checkin: Select this option if you would like guests to use their personalized QR code to check into the event.\n\nThis is only applicable if you plan to use the cove Kiosk App at your event. For more information about Event Check-In, please visit this article.\n\nRSVP Mode\n\nSelect Collect RSVPs for the event as a whole (default). If you'd like to create an event with RSVP slots, read more here.\n\nConfigure Event Ticket Prices\nThis section allows you to manage multiple event ticket prices for an event and is only compatible if you have Stripe setup in your dashboard.\nReminder: this section configures the ticket prices for the recurring event template. Once an event is created, this information can be changed individually on each event.\n\nClick +Add Price\n\nAdd a ticket label (this will be visible to tenants).\n\nAdd a ticket price.\n\nRepeat steps to add multiple ticket prices.\n\nDisplays\nThis section allows you to manage how events are shown on your integrated displays and is only compatible if displays are activated in your dashboard.\nReminder: this section configures the display options for the recurring event template. Once an event is created, this information can be changed individually on each event.\n\nPublish this event to your Onsite TV Displays\n\nIf doing so, ensure the event image is landscape orientation and at least 1344w x 1080h px.\n\nThe event title, time, and description text will automatically be overlayed on top of the image, so it is not recommended to use images with text on them for events published to Onsite TV Displays.\n\nTo add an even to a display, select the display(s) from the dropdown menu. The event will be shown during the times set in the Visibility section.\n\nEvent Email Notifications\nThis section allows you to manage several types of event notifications:\n\nevent confirmation emails for those who RSVP\n\nnotification emails to property teams when a user RSVPs to an event\n\nevent reminder emails\n\nevent starting soon reminder emails\n\nReminder: this section configures the event email notifications for the recurring event template. Once an event is created, this information can be changed individually on each event.\nEvent Confirmation Emails\nTo enable event confirmation emails for users, check the box. When this box is checked, users will receive an email upon RSVPing to an event that includes event details and links to add the event to a Google or Outlook calendar.\n\nTo enable event emails for property teams when a user RSVPs to an event, add email addresses in the box and separate each with a comma.\n\nHere is an example of the email a user will receive when RSVP'ing to an event:\nEvent Reminder Emails\nWhen Send Event RSVP Reminder Email is enabled, a configuration form appears where you can select when reminder emails should be sent before the event (hours, days, or weeks in advance).\n\nWhen Send Event Starting Soon Reminder Email is enabled, a configuration form appears where you can choose when the “Starting Soon” email should be sent before the event begins (minutes, hours, or days in advance). These emails will include “Starting Soon” in the subject line.\nNote: Event Reminder emails can be updated anytime after the event was created, as long as the changes are made before the scheduled notifications are sent. Updates will only apply to occurrences that have not yet opened, and events already listed in the Upcoming tab will not be affected.\nEvent Survey\nCheck the box and configure if you'd like to send a post-event survey.\nTags\nEngagement Tags can be used to categorize or label events in a recurring series. Tags do not affect event visibility and are for organizational purposes only. You can add one or more tags to help identify recurring programs, special initiatives, or event categories across your events table.\nTo create and manage Engagement Tags, navigate to the Engagement Tags page in the Engage module. Once tags are created, they will be available to select from the dropdown on any event or recurring event template.\nTags applied to an event are visible in the Events table and can be used to filter and download events for easier reporting and planning.\nVisibility\n\nThis section determines who can see the events in this recurring event series.\n\nEvents become visible to tenants in the app and on displays (if enabled) as they are created. The Advance Open Window option ensures events are created gradually, rather than all at once. Determine the visibility for events in the Advance Open Window section.\n\nUser Tag Visibility: To show this event to only certain user groups, click Only Visible To Specified User Tags and select from the dropdown menu.\nFor more information on user tags, click here.","capture_id":"b32e4952338f12e88e3a8d863f8850b2e2ae955ff1b52f0b77293b7333c8bc20","captured_at":"2026-10-12T13:24:59.214Z","published_at":null,"indexed_at":"2026-10-12T13:24:59.250Z","truncated":0,"scope_tier":"primary","monitor_reason":"","last_error":null,"last_attempt_at":"2026-10-12T13:24:58.678Z","enabled":1,"evidence_notes":[],"text_available":true,"media":["https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/49418255760020","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283850128532","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34893220627604","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/49418255761812","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283841202324","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283868070420","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283868181780","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283819558036","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283836346388","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283850793492","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283836444308","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34892986253588","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283868540564","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283841912340","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283819975956","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283880378516","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283836856340","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/47299011218836","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/47299011223700","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/49418585117460","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34283851333012"],"interpretation":"Unreviewed source evidence.
