A user profile ensures that every person has the correct permissions, roles, and visibility within the platform. Profiles can be created in several ways, depending on your needs and the size of your tenant population:\n\nManually add users one at a time for quick or individual setup\n\nBulk upload users to onboard larger groups efficiently\n\nAdd tenant email domains to allow users to self-enroll with their work email address\n\nNotes:\n\nIf dashboard access is enabled for regular users but their account hasn’t been created yet, they won’t receive a login code. They must first log in through the Mobile App before accessing the dashboard.\n\nIf your app is integrated with an access control system, users must also have matching profiles in that system\n\nManually Add A User\n\nNavigate to the Directory module of the dashboard, and click on the Users sub-page.\n\nClick on +New in the upper right, and from here the user form/profile will appear.\n\nFill out the User Profile. There are only five fields required to create a user profile-the rest are optional:\n\nFirst Name\n\nLast Name\n\nCompany: Choose the user's company from the dropdown. If their company/ organization does not yet exist, click Add Tenant to create a tenant and then assign the user to it.\n\nEmail: Pro tip: This email will be used for the user's login, so double-check that it's accurate—if it's incorrect, the user won’t be able to log in.\n\nUser Role: This is what will determine the user's level of access to the app and/or dashboard\n\nNote: By default the Account Status is set to Active- this is what allows users to log into the app and dashboard. If moved to Suspended, that user would not be allowed to log into the app or dashboard.\n\nWe recommend suspending a user from the system instead of deleting them so that you have a record of their profile existing.\n\nBulk Upload Users\n\nNavigate to the Directory module of the dashboard, and click on the Users sub-page.\n\nClick on Upload in the upper right.\n\nFollow the directions on the Upload page (The Upload page will always be updated if there are every changes to the process). Below is an overview of the steps:\n\nDownload the user profile spreadsheet.\n\nAdd all user information on the spreadsheet; each line will represent an individual user.\n\nDownload the spreadsheet as a .csv.\n\nUpload the .csv into the dashboard.\n\nAdd Tenant Email Domains For User Self-Enrollment\n\nIf one of your tenants uses a shared email domain for their work addresses, you can add that domain to their tenant pages. Anyone with a matching email address will then be able to download the app, self-enroll, and be automatically added to the appropriate tenant group in your building directory.\n\nNotes:\n\nAll user's who enroll this way will be automatically assigned as a Regular User. You can change their role in their User Profile.\n\nIf someone loses access to their work email (they’ve left the company), they’ll no longer be able to log in to the app.\n\nNavigate to the Directory module, and click on the Tenants sub-page.\n\nClick on the Edit icon next to the tenant name.\n\nAdd the email domain in the Email Domains field. If you'd like to add multiple email domains, separate each with a comma.\n\nClick Save.","capture_id":"b342bf59033c1e75aff6ee44aa14892ab57fd339a557b16ddcd76ce5f4a2f664","captured_at":"2026-10-12T13:25:02.559Z","published_at":null,"indexed_at":"2026-10-12T13:25:02.594Z","truncated":0,"scope_tier":"primary","monitor_reason":"","last_error":null,"last_attempt_at":"2026-10-12T13:25:01.787Z","enabled":1,"evidence_notes":[],"text_available":true,"media":["https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/34863387808788","https://support.cove.is/hc/article_attachments/35817107731604"],"interpretation":"Unreviewed source evidence.
