Whether you are tracking daily incidents, monitoring visitor traffic, or analyzing labor operations, Insights enables you to create custom dashboards (Boards) filled with tailored visualizations (Cards) to inform data-driven decisions.\nDashboards are organized into Boards and Cards.\n\nA Board is a page that holds a collection of visualizations.\n\nA Card is a single chart, table, or metric placed on a Board.\n\nIn this article, we will review:\n\nAccess & Permissions\n\nSupported Data Types\n\nCreating a Board\n\nAdding and Arranging Cards\n\nConfiguring a Card\n\nDrilling Down Into Data\n\nEditing and Deleting a Card\n\nViewing Boards at the Network Level\n\nAccess & Permissions:\nInsights Dashboards are available to the following roles:\n\nBuilding Admins (BA)\n\nBuilding Managers (BM)\n\nEngineering Managers (EM)\n\nSupported Data Types\nCurrently, we support reporting and visualizations for the following areas:\n\nEvent RSVPs\n\nIncidents\n\nInspections\n\nLabor\n\nPreventive Maintenance\n\nReservations\n\nTravel\n\nUsers\n\nVisitors\n\nWork Orders\n\nCreating a Board\n\nSelect Insights on the sidebar, then click New Board.\n\nChoose whether the Board should be Private (visible only to you) or shared with your team.\n\nWhen creating a new Board, users can start from a blank layout or choose a template.\n\nIf creating a Blank board, choose Blank Board.\n\nIf starting from a template, select one:\n\nBuilding Operations – includes Work Orders by Issue Type, Work Order Response Times, Open Work Orders by Site, PM Completion Rate, and Open Inspections by Site.\n\nTenant Engagement – includes Users by Tenant, Popular Events, Event Activity by Tenant, and Reservations by Amenity.\n\nEnter a Name and optional Description for the Board. Click Create.\n\nAdding and Arranging Cards\nCards are added to a Board using the Add Card to Row control at the bottom of the Board, or the plus icon at the end of an existing row. Each row can hold up to four Cards. Cards in a row automatically divide the available width evenly.\nConfiguring a Card\nWhen adding or editing a Card, users can set the following options:\n\nCard Type: Column, Bar, Pie, Table, or KPI.\n\nName: an optional title displayed at the top of the Card.\nData Type: the category of data to visualize, chosen from the supported data types (Event RSVPs, Incidents, Inspections, Labor, Preventive Maintenance, Reservations, Travel, Users, Visitors, Work Orders). Please note: When you select Data Type, the Metric will adjust\n\nMetric: the value to measure, such as Count or Hours Logged. Available Metrics depend on the Data Type selected.\n\nTime Window: presets of 12 months, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, or month-to-date, or a custom date range. In the image below, a Custom date range was selected and you will need to select the start and end time\n\nApplied To: the date field the Time Window is measured against (for example, Opened At, Due At, or Completed At). Available options depend on the Data Type selected.\n\nTrend Over Time: optionally plot the metric over time using Year, Month, Week, or Day buckets. Only available for Column and Table cards.\n\nBreakdown: the field used to group the data (for example, Site or Status). Not available for KPI cards.\n\nSort Order: for Bar and Table cards, choose how data is ordered — Top (Highest), Bottom (Lowest), or Alphabetical. Top (Highest) remains the default, so existing Boards and Cards look exactly the same unless someone selects a different order. Switching to Bottom (Lowest) is a fast way to surface outliers — for example, the sites with the fewest billables, technicians missing logged labor, or PM types falling behind.\n\nFilters: narrow the data shown on the Card. Available filters depend on the Data Type selected (for example, Inspections can be filtered by Name, Assigned To, Status, Building, Region, or Groups).\n\nPreview: a live chart preview updates as options are changed, so you can see the result before creating the Card.\n\nDrilling Down Into Data\nOn supported chart Cards, clicking a chart segment where it says Click to Drill Down (such as a bar or pie slice) opens the underlying records in a filtered table view, carrying over any filters, time window, and grouping that were applied to the chart.\n\nYou can easily print an entire Board or individual Cards directly from the dashboard view or on each card with the printer icon.\nEditing and Deleting a Card\nHover over a card to find the Pencil icon to edit and the Trash icon to delete.\nViewing Boards at the Network Level\n\nIf you have access to a network, you can view all site boards associated with it in one place.\n\nNavigate to the network, then select Insights from the sidebar.
