Barr \n\nAt “Housing Affordability 2026: A Community Development Summit,” hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois\n\nThank you for the opportunity to speak to you. 1 My interest in access to affordable housing spans several decades. During my career, I have worked on housing and mortgage market reform and promoted access to credit for low- and moderate- income (LMI) households. I've seen firsthand what public–private partnerships in low-income communities can mean for improving affordable housing, from the South Bronx, to the South Side of Chicago, to the Mississippi Delta, to South Central L.A., and places in between. Now at the Federal Reserve Board, I oversee our Division of Consumer and Community Affairs and participate in rate-setting decisions that affect the economy. By pursuing maximum employment and stable prices, the Federal Reserve seeks to create the stable macroeconomic environment necessary for households to maintain purchasing power, earn reliable incomes, access housing, and, ultimately, build capital through homeownership and other forms of investment.\n\nThe Economic Outlook Before I turn to my thoughts about housing, I want to spend a few moments sharing my views on the broader economy and monetary policy. As you know, the Federal Reserve has what we call a dual mandate, which is to achieve maximum employment and stable prices.\n\nOur economy has experienced a series of shocks over the past year and half: the imposition of tariffs, the conflict in the Middle East and continued disruptions from Russia's war on Ukraine, and, more recently, a surge in investment demand to support the artificial intelligence (AI) buildout. These shocks have contributed to upward price pressures.\n\nEconomic growth is strong and the labor market is solid, but inflation is above our 2 percent target and not clearly trending toward target in a timely way. Moreover, risks to achieving our inflation target have increased, while risks to the labor market have receded. We needed to recalibrate monetary policy to reflect the balance of risks to our mandate goals. The FOMC took important action to that end last week by increasing the policy rate, which I supported. Corporate real estate, the second-largest expense for most enterprises, hasn't had one until now.\n\nReal estate teams have tools, but those tools weren't built for AI. Leases, space, headcount, and utilization data sit across systems that don't talk to each other, so every major decision starts with weeks of reassembling the picture by hand. Dashboards show what happened. Consultants deliver a report that's outdated on arrival. Neither helps teams make the next decision faster.\n\nThat's what we're building. Trebellar turns the information real estate teams already have into one live view of their portfolio: how much space they have, what it costs, and whether it's working for the people using it. We add commute times, transit access, and team sentiment so decisions reflect how people actually work. Then Trebellar tracks why each decision was made, whether it held up, and what to do next.\n\nAbove all, we’re grateful to our customers: Meta, Uber, Merck, Cohesity, and others who have partnered with us to help guide their AI transformation stories. \n\nThis funding lets us grow our engineering and go-to-market teams, deepen our AI capabilities, and bring Trebellar to more enterprises. \n\nWe're also incredibly glad to welcome Dave Radcliffe as an advisor. Dave led the expansion of Google's real estate footprint under Eric Schmidt, Larry Page, and Sundar Pichai. You’ll hear more about Dave’s appointment very soon! \n\nA special thank you to Ophelia and the Blossom team and all our investors for backing us, and to the Trebellar team for building it.\n\nWe are just getting started… If you want to help, we're hiring ;)\n\nsupport@trebellar.com+1 (415) 855-7869 (+14158557869)"},{"id":"E7","company":"Market","title":"Venn acquires a16z-backed Zuma for $50 million as its","url":"https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/09/22/3366532/0/en/venn-acquires-a16z-backed-zuma-for-50-million-as-its-platform-closes-in-on-one-million-homes.html","published_at":"2026-09-22T00:00:00.000Z","captured_at":"2026-09-28T13:00:45.348Z","excerpt":"Venn acquires a16z-backed Zuma for $50 million as its\n\n# Venn acquires a16z-backed Zuma for $50 million as its platform closes in on one million homes\n\n September 22, 2026 10:00 ET | Source: Venn \n\nVenn’s model makes software for free and charges for what is proprietary: the intelligence layer and the bespoke agents that act on it. This acquisition brings Zuma, one of multifamily’s leading AI solutions, into the model which has grown 4x since January.\n\n \n\nNEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Venn, the sovereign AI platform for real estate, today announced it has acquired Zuma, a leader in agentic AI for multifamily used by operators for leasing, renewals and collections. Zuma was backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, King River & Capital.\n\nVenn serves more than 270 owners and operators including Bozzuto, Related, Kairoi Residential and Grand City Properties, and expects to pass a million units under management by year end. Venn's contracted revenue has more than quadrupled over the past year, growth that places it in the top quartile of companies tracked in ICONIQ's September 2026 State of Scaling report, the cohort ICONIQ calls Pacesetters.\n\nZuma has assembled one of the strongest applied AI teams in real estate, combining machine learning, data science and engineering talent with five years of deep expertise in multifamily marketing and leasing. Its team, technology and domain intelligence now strengthen Venn’s Company Brain and accelerate the development of increasingly sophisticated agents across every sector in real estate.\n\nWho owns the intelligence\n\n“Ask the question nobody in real estate asks,” said Or Bokobza, CEO of Venn. “Who owns your data once you hand it to an AI vendor? Every operator I meet has spent decades building a way of running properties that nobody else has, and then handed it to a vendor who sells the same answer to the building next door. We give the software away. What you pay us for is the intelligence platform, which you own, and the agentic outcomes we build on top. Zuma brings exceptional AI talent and deep marketing and leasing expertise into that platform, making the Company Brain materially more powerful and accelerating what our agents can do.”\n\nVenn builds each operator its own Company Brain: their data, their definitions and their way of working, encoded once, upon which AI agents and applications can work,"},{"id":"E8","company":"Macro structured data","title":"10-year Treasury yield","url":"https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/DGS10","published_at":"Unavailable (CSV)","observation_date":"2026-09-24","captured_at":"2026-09-28T14:25:28.591Z","excerpt":"{\"id\":\"DGS10\",\"title\":\"10-year Treasury yield\",\"frequency\":\"Daily\",\"units\":\"Percent\",\"adjustment\":\"Not seasonally adjusted\",\"provider\":\"Federal Reserve Board\",\"maxAge\":10,\"scope\":\"National financing context; Macroeconomic releases may be monthly or quarterly; a quiet week does not mean unchanged conditions."},"archive":[{"id":"weekly-2026-10-12","generated_at":"2026-10-12T13:55:57.634Z","period_start":"2026-10-05T13:55:57.634Z","period_end":"2026-10-12T13:55:57.634Z","status":"failed"},{"id":"weekly-2026-10-05","generated_at":"2026-10-05T14:05:29.773Z","period_start":"2026-09-28T14:05:29.773Z","period_end":"2026-10-05T14:05:29.773Z","status":"ready"},{"id":"weekly-2026-09-28","generated_at":"2026-09-28T14:25:36.162Z","period_start":"2026-09-21T14:25:36.162Z","period_end":"2026-09-28T14:25:36.162Z","status":"ready"},{"id":"manual-7b205e68-08c0-4b46-8835-cc05c134a265","generated_at":"2026-09-23T00:47:37.842Z","period_start":"2026-09-16T00:47:37.842Z","period_end":"2026-09-23T00:47:37.842Z","status":"ready"},{"id":"manual-a6761b7c-a91c-456d-bf12-4924d41aebf6","generated_at":"2026-09-23T00:35:11.808Z","period_start":"2026-09-16T00:35:11.808Z","period_end":"2026-09-23T00:35:11.808Z","status":"ready"},{"id":"manual-dbcc58c6-6def-44e4-981e-aff2b4281013","generated_at":"2026-09-23T00:32:26.397Z","period_start":"2026-09-16T00:32:26.397Z","period_end":"2026-09-23T00:32:26.397Z","status":"failed"},{"id":"manual-52eec4e2-7349-4ee5-8538-a797106674df","generated_at":"2026-09-23T00:30:34.518Z","period_start":"2026-09-16T00:30:34.518Z","period_end":"2026-09-23T00:30:34.518Z","status":"failed"}]}
